POPCORN CHICKEN

We are having a staple Christmas snack! Say hello to our Popcorn Chicken and homemade dip recipe!​

INGREDIENTS

  • Boneless chicken/Chicken breast
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Paprika
  • Ginger powder
  • Chili powder
  • Oregano
  • Onga Chicken Powder
  • Eggs
  • Vegetable Oil
  • METHOD

    1. Cut your chicken into small bite-sized pieces
    2. Put the pieces in a bowl and add black pepper and salt. Rub the seasoning all over the chicken.
    3. In a clean bowl add a cup of flour, add paprika, ginger powder, chili powder, oregano, salt and Onga chicken powder. Mix thoroughly.
    4. Whisk the egg into a separate bowl
    5. Dip each chicken bite in the egg and then roll it in the flour mix. For easier preparation, place the two bowls with the egg and flour side by side
    6. Once you coat the pieces in the flour put them in a separate wide plate or tray
    7. You can double coat them by dipping them in the egg and rolling them in the flour mix once again for extra crunch
    8. Heat oil and once it’s hot enough, carefully put the chicken pieces one after another. Don’t disturb or stir the chicken pieces and deep fry them in batches
    9. Fry them on medium heat until they get a golden color
    10. Drain them on a kitchen tissue and serve hot with mayo dipping sauce or ketchup
