RAM BURGER

The Sallah meat feast is upon us! It's time to spice up your Sallah menu with our special Sallah recipes. Try out this Ongalicious Ram Burger recipe for Sallah and thank us later.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1kg Ram meat
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • Thyme
  • 1/4 Cup Spring Onions (chopped)
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tbsp Chili flakes
  • 1/2 tbsp Paprika
  • 1 ONGA Ginger Onion & Garlic (GoG) Seasoning
  • Ketchup
  • Mayonnaise
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Onions
  • Cheese
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Buns
  • METHOD

    1. Cut the cleaned ram meat into small sized cubes
    2. Throw it in the food processor
    3. Add garlic, thyme, spring onions, egg, chili flakes, paprika, salt and Onga Ginger, Onion & Garlic.
    4. Process it for a couple of seconds or simply give it about 20 to 22 pulses using the pulse button on your food processor or blender.
    5. Preheat the grill pan on high heat
    6. Transfer the ram mixture into a bowl and divide the mixture into equal portions and form balls.
    7. Flatten the balls into 3/4-inch patties about 4-1/2 inches across. Form a slight depression in the center of each patty to prevent the burgers from puffing up on the grill
    8. Oil the grilling pan and grill the burgers. Flip burgers and continue cooking for a few minutes more until desired doneness is reached.
    9. Before serving, toast the buns on a pan or grill.
    10. To serve, spread the bottom halves of the toasted buns with the ketchup. Top with the lettuce, patties, sliced tomato, cheese and onions. Cover with the burger bun top.
    11. Serve with some crispy, salted fries.
